Good luck to everyone.

Just because you've bought it, doesn't mean you have to drink it, it's not too late to fight.

((gw)) what do you think would help you right now? What do you need in order to be able to care for you??? You deserve so much good in life. I hope you can keep safe and that "this too shall pass" quickly for you.

Letsholdhands you are doing fantastically! Proud of you hard work.

Had one drink on monday. 5 on Tuesday :( none yesterday :)

^ It's funny you should ask that nook because that is exactly what my GP asked me today. What do I need in order to let booze be booze and just walk away from it. I told her I mostly use it as a narcotic, even though I'm well aware of the rebound. She told me that the way in which it takes over your brain completely is, in general, not OK (unless you have the occasional glass of wine at a dinner party). Let alone when you're on the medication I'm on. My meds' dosage has been increased which makes interactive or additive affects only that much more likely. She told me to choose for myself, that it is better to lay in the dark for hours than to soak my brain and liver in alcohol... I honestly don't know anymore.

Thanks for both of your support.

Nook, you have been consistently doing very very well  :)

GW, loss of sleep is so much better than poisoning your organs  :(

True but I was granted a total of 2 hours of sleep last night.... and have to go to the dentist and physical therapist today.... Which seems like nothing until you are completely burned out like I am.

Are there other sleeping remedies you could use instead?

Oh, dozens of them! From using a Lavender-scented shower gell to positioning my bed differently, to melatonine over-the-counter stuff.... We are passed that phase belief me. If nothing changes in 2 weeks my GP wants me to undergo a EEG-like sleep analysis.... but my GP and my therapist heavily indicate that that kind of thing won't help me. Nevermind that I have to pay every inside and outside patient myself.

The mere withdrawal effects from alcohol are likely to reduce the possibility of sleep - your body needs a real at least opportunity to retrain itself (while being supported with good sleep hygiene). I know the short term solution to not feeling so horrid is so appealing but the potential long-term benefits of finding another way...?

No alcamahol over here. Kind is surprised, actually. Just got to not get complacent?!

Yeaterday was alcohol free for me and today definitely will be as I'm in the hospital over night.
