4.5. Could have had less but I justified it.

My parents want to Skype and I am so afraid I'll sip straight out of the liquor bottle out of pure habit...

...and yeah, what do you know,  it happened...  They were foolish enough / the connection was poor enough to fool them into thinking I was drinking bottled water...

Oh it's exam time, a stressful period. I don't want to try cut back now, I will when exams finish. Grr.

You do belong here. Just keep trying.

Ah, I remember that mindset from when I was studying, only its subject was stopping to eat crappy food ;) I don't know if you recall or believe what I said about busy times. It's essentially never going to be really, structurally less busy or stressful in life as long as you study or work. I hope you find a way to cope with this way of justification, for lack of a better expression :) ;)

Thank you for encouraging me :) I think today can go either way. I woke up early so I started early but my dad is dropping by around 4 PM and that's very good motivation to stop drinking a couple hours before (and when he is here ofc). Maybe those hours will cancel out the early morning?

Wishing you all the best for that!

I swear when exams are over (in about 10 days) I'm aiming to take a full week off drinking. I ended up drinking tonight even though I planned a free day because I did something terrible and the guilt just won't go away.

I think you belong here, GW!

Fourth day alcohol free. Starting to feel like I want to stop taking the meds, which I CAN'T do at this point if I really do want to keep from drinking. The only reason to stop the meds would be to enable me to drink, so... yeah. Got to keep learning to cope and face things without the alcohol :o

Got to stick with it...

^ Yes you do and you will because you have got this!! I don't want to impose any pressure on you. It's just that I genuinely believe in your capabilities :) Thanks for your encouragement as well.

@letsholdhands: a handshake then? :P ;)

I myself am doing well so far. From now on I'm really going to need to watch the time and my intake, though. My dad comes by around 4 PM but who knows, it might be 3:30... I need to sober up by then and hide my bottle and what not. It's kind of hard because I'm engaging in corset training at the same time, so I can only sip little bits at once rather than just to rinse out my system ;)

Today I had my talk with the liquor store owner... :(... we both realized how bad it actually has gotten and we were both like: "shit"...

He did admit to having a commercial side, as in: dead clients don't give me any profit...but then again nor do clients you talk to for 40 minutes without charging them...

Since it's too late to edit my previous post I'm just going to go ahead and say it:

1/3 :D I was so afraid of ending up at 0/30. Whichever way this goes I got that +1 :D

Got through day five. Could really do with a drink. Ugh.

Saw my psychologist today. She suggested we do a hypno recording that I listen to each time I want a drink. The aim would be to have me make the decision from a calmer, less impulsive place. Makes sense to me. I can't stay on this med forever, but right now I don't know how I'll continue to not drink when I stop taking it?

I can drink socially and control it for a while... But then at some point in spirals. It's been like that for years. Idk if I can drink at all? I don't know if I can STOP drinking completely? I don't know if I can do controlled drinking? It feels like I've tried it and failed too many times...

Hrmm. Food for tought.

I know I live half a world away, literally, but in my country 0% beverages are becoming more and more popular. I also have an uncle and aunt that are physically not allowed to drink alcohol because of the epileptic-medicine they have been taking since they were children. They still have fun at parties and someone always makes sure there is a 0% variant of champagne or something available for them... So maybe you could play it as a medical condition? Honestly this would not be that much of a lie. You really are at risk for relapse, so why would your condition be subordinate to their epileptic medication? Point being: the people that care will help you...

ETA: ....and those who don't care: fuck them
